Mission Objectives:

1. Launch satellite into polar orbits around Kerbin and Minmus
2. Perform altimetry scans of Kerbin and Minmus

Crew:

This is the first two of a series of scanning satellites that will be deployed around Kerbin and its moons.

Year 4, Day 218: Redemption I

The rocket launches just before sunset.

The sun peeks out behind the peaks.

The first stage burns out.

Fairings are jettisoned.

The new satellite's increased fuel capacity removes the need for the additional stage on previous launches.

Once in a transfer orbit, the satellite is deployed.

After one orbit, the satellite adjusts its apoapsis.

And then circularizes into its final orbit.

After deploying the altitude scanner, the satellite will complete its first scan in about 8 days.

Year 4, Day 241: Redemption II

After a successful launch, the upper stage transfers to Minmus.

After TMI, the satellite is deployed.

Performing the Minmus insertion burn.

In preparation for future landing missions, the satellite begins scanning the surface once it's in its polar orbit.
