Launches: Foragers V-XVI

1. Transmit thermal data from space high above Kerbin
2. Transmit thermal data from space around Mun
3. Achieve orbit around Mun

This series of Forager launches was meant to test new guidance software, allowing a craft to calculate and perform orbital manouvres autonomously. This test mission will launch, circularize, complete one orbit, then perform a deorbit burn.

This test serves as both preparation for our upcoming crewed program, and for enhanced satellite deployment capability.

Year 1, Day 254 - Year 2, Day 58: Foragers V-XV

Foragers V-XV were all pretty much the same: they all failed to reach stable orbits due to various software glitches. It took a lot of launches before the last glitch was finally snuffed out.

Year 2, Day 81: Forager XVI

Forager XVI started out like its predecessors, until it came time to perform its circularization burn.

Once in a stable orbit, it deployed its antenna and began tracking the Sun.

After completing one orbit, the probe re-oriented itself and performed a de-orbit manoeuvre.

Satellite de-orbit confirmed.
