Launch 1-12: Resnick 1 (Minmus Flyby)

Year 1, day 256.
Project: Resnick
Mission Objectives:

1. Perform flyby of Minmus.
2. Transmit scientific data form space around Minmus.

This launch features an upgraded version of the G-2 satellite, featuring larger fuel tanks and improved electrical systems. The lower stage tanks of the G-4 were lengthened slightly, to accommodate for the heavier payload.

Liftoff!

MECO and stage separation.

Fairing jettison.

The payload was deployed just shy of the transfer orbit, which it completed with its onboard propulsion.

Halfway to Minmus, the probe adjusts its inclination slightly.

The probe approaches its target, from the night side.

It finally reaches day after its closest approach.

It continues to drift away until settling into its highly eccentric graveyard orbit around Kerbin.
