Customer: Moving Parts Experts Group
Mission Objectives:
  1. Deploy satellite into 12,225km x 10,662km orbit around Kerbin.

We've made some upgrades to our space centre, and need to take on some commercial missions in order to pay for it. Our first commercial contract is to place a satellite into orbit high above Kerbin.

MECO, fairing jettison, stage sep, and second stage ignition occur simultaneously.

The upper stage performs a long burn at low thrust.

At SECO, the payload is deployed.

The satellite then makes final verification checks while completing an orbit. At periapsis, it does a quick burn to push its apoapsis to the desired altitude, taking advantage of the Oberth effect.

After a couple of orbital adjustments, the satellite enters its intended orbit around Kerbin.
Mission Status:
  1. Deploy satellite into 12,225km x 10,662km orbit around Kerbin: success!

    Introduction and Mods

    The Rules

    1. Rocket launches must be fully automated using kOS and SmartParts.
    2. Launch vehicles must have self-contained guidance, and not rely on payloads.
    3. Long-duration, non-cryogenic  stages must use low-efficiency engines to simulate hypergolic fuels.
    4. Crewed vehicles must be flight-certified before they carry any crew.
    5. Crewed vehicles may not use SRBs.
    6. AntennaRange / USI LS (in K.I.A. mode) will be used.
    7. Missions must be progressive:
      1. Uncrewed before crewed.
      2. Suborbital/flyby before orbital.
      3. Orbital before landing.
    8. Launches are permitted every 23 days on Kerbin.
