Launch 2-15: Resnik 2

Year 2, day 334.
Project: Resnik.
Mission Objectives:

1. Perform crewed flyby of Mun.
2. Return crew safely to Kerbin.

Crew:

• Mission Commander: Valentina (Pilot⭐️)
• Copilot: Jebediah (Pilot⭐️)
• Payload Specialist: Bob (Scientist)

The long wait is finally over, we are sending Kerbals to Mun.

Liftoff of Resnik 2, on its journey to Mun!

First stage separation.

LES jettison.

Coasting to apo, with the eventual target in the distance.

Performing trans-Mun burn, an orbit later.

Approaching Mun.

On his way away from Mun, Bob performs an EVA to collect the data from the experiments bay.

The service bays and upper stage separate from the capsule before re-entry.

Mission Objectives:

1. Perform crewed flyby of Mun: success!
2. Return crew safely to Kerbin: success!

The only problem with the mission was a failure of the materials bay near Mun. We'll have to perform that experiment again on another mission.
