Although we have run countless simulated launches, we need to perform an actual launch and re-entry to qualify the rocket for crewed flight.

Mission Objectives:

1. Safely recover (uncrewed) capsule after activation of launch escape system.

Before launching crew in a new vessel, it might be qualified for crewed flight. The first part is performing a test of its launch escape system, which will jettison the capsule from the rocket in the event of an emergency during ascent.
