1. Launch into near-rendezvous with Whitson Station.

The purpose of this mission is to flight-qualify a rocket with a smaller crewed stage, more appropriate for docking with stations above Kerbin. It will be an automated test flight.

1. ​Qualify Resnik I rocket for crewed flight to Mun.

Although we have run countless simulated launches, we need to perform an actual launch and re-entry to qualify the rocket for crewed flight.

1. Safely recover (uncrewed) capsule after activation of launch escape system.

Before launching crew in a new vessel, it might be qualified for crewed flight. The first part is performing a test of its launch escape system, which will jettison the capsule from the rocket in the event of an emergency during ascent.

This is an identical rocket and probe to Ivins 5, going to Mun instead. This is why the upper stage for that launch was a little overpowered.

This will be our first SCANsat satellite. Additional satellites will be deployed to Mun and Minmus, and eventually other planets as well.

1. Perform a flyby of Minmus.
2. Record scientific data.

This mission will collect data from high above Minmus that wasn't collected by Sullivan 1.
