This is a rather ambitious mission, serving as a test of our first multi-crew capsule. There are various crew stranded in orbit around Kerbin, Minmus, and on the surface of Minmus, and this craft will bring them all home.

Unfortunately, I must have missed my correction burn alarm, and the probe was not able to collect scientific data from near Moho's surface. Instead, we obtained scientific data about the Sun.

The classic rescue mission for the rescue mission. The initial plan was for both craft to rendezvous with the station in orbit around Minmus, but I suppose they only need to rendezvous with each other. In any case, this is probably what the original rescue ship should have been.

We've made a few modifications from the previous launch. The Karibou VTOL engines are designed to handle larger rovers on planets such as Duna. As such, if we're only going to Minmus, we need much, much lower thrust. This requires us to ditch the rear engines, which makes the craft lighter, and, more importantly, more balanced. The reduced thrust should permit the cabin's reaction wheels to maintain control during landing. A lighter payload also results in a more efficient launch.

Whew, that's a mouthful.

This is a pretty cool rocket. The first stage consists of a core stage, plus 4 auxiliary tanks that are decoupled along the way. The payload consists of three relay satellites, allowing us to deploy a relay network to a planet in a single launch. At least in theory.
