Launch 5-7: Biko 2 Hab/Lab Redux

Year 5, Day 73.
Mission Objectives:

1. Dock habitation and science modules to Biko 2.

Previously.

Payload: Halo Habitation Module

Payload: Zephyrus Science Lab

Lifter: DLSv3 Atlas V DEUCES mk II

Fairing jettison.

After a nominal transfer, the station comes into view.

We are unable to comment on ongoing investigations at this time.

After a failed rendezvous, it was decided to dock DEUCES 1 to DEUCES 2, and have DEUCES 1 dock the hab to the station.

That was DEUCES 2 with the lab, though. Here is DEUCES 1 with the hab.

We will need to replace the damaged solar panel, but this completes our contract for phase 1 of the station.

Mission Summary:

1. Dock habitation and science modules to Biko 2: success!

These DEUCES modules will probably be deorbited, as they still suffer from some critical design flaws. But they have demonstrated the feasibility of the DEUCES contract.
